Shaping relationships as a condition for successful conflict resolution

“Developments are sequences
of problems solved.”
Karin Reichwein

The manager’s key task is to support, motivate and guide the colleagues in their team in professional situations. A personal discussion allows a variety of alternatives to be presented so that the best possible solutions can be found for achieving objectives. Personal developments are sequences of problems solved, with the determination and motivation to go through this process being key to its success. The role of the manager includes supporting and encouraging team members to achieve the defined objective. The same applies to serious conflict situations, where various parties with different opinions and interests can often cease to achieve their objectives (Gellert, M. & Nowak, C. (2010); Glasl, F. (2013). It’s the manager’s leadership role to identify the roots of the conflict and see how it arose through differences in know-how, different understandings of the circumstances, and personalities, etc. and present possible strategies for achieving the common goal. If these discussions can take place in a positive atmosphere and are supported by excellent specialist knowledge the conflict will be resolved successfully for all parties concerned. We are happy to offer support and advice with team development processes or strategies for conflict management within your company.
