“The more relaxed you are,
the better you are at everything.”
Bill Murray
The notion of a work-life balance has become a key concept today. We are pleased to be able to support employees and employers in management roles and other jobs in their professional activities or with a return to professional life. In psychology, we talk about “resilience” (the secret of psychological powers of resistance – das Geheimnis der psychischen Widerstandskraft, cf. Berndt, 2015). What are the key competencies that enable some people to withstand pressure while others break under it? It is an area of research that commands a great deal of attention, and one we are pleased to be able to explain in detail. Today’s fast-moving, busy, performance-driven world of work is a source of enormous pressure with its high implied demands on individual employees. We need to learn the best way of dealing with this pressure and develop an awareness of which personal resources are available to us and how our own individual system can be regenerated as a condition for achieving high levels of performance. In summary, it is safe to say that resilience is founded on more than one pillar (including the interaction between factors of personality, know-how, personal empowerment, experience in dealing with stress, social environment as a relevant factor; people who are self-aware are more resilient). We will be glad to offer support through individual consultation with your team or your managers with the aim of preventing burn-out by first improving the constitution of the individual and increasing their performance capacity.
